Approving a short means the edit is ready. Publishing is a separate decision: which account should receive it, with what caption and privacy settings, and at what time? Keeping those steps distinct makes the workflow easier to trust.

Connect the right destination

Your workspace’s source YouTube channel and its publishing destinations serve different purposes. The source channel helps discover recordings. Posting to a social account requires that account’s separate connection and upload permissions.

Aftertake supports publishing integrations for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok. What you can use depends on the configured integration, platform review status and the permissions granted by your account. Check the connection status in your workspace before planning a post.

Use Publish now when the short is ready

After approving a clip, choose Publish now when you want to submit it straight away. Review the destination account, post text and available privacy options. A submitted upload may still need time for the platform to process it.

Use the calendar to space out your posts

Schedule approved shorts when you want to spread them over a few days. Check the calendar’s time zone and the date and time for each post. The monthly view helps you see gaps and avoid accidentally putting several clips into the same slot.

A scheduled item is a plan, not proof that the platform has published it. Check its final status after the scheduled time, particularly if a connected account needs to be renewed.

TikTok has two different paths

Direct Post submits the video for posting using the available account settings. Inbox upload sends it to TikTok for the creator to finish there. An inbox upload is not a completed public post: open TikTok and finish the required steps.

Keep the last check simple

You can also download the approved short and publish it yourself when a destination is not connected or its integration is not yet available.
